Healthy snacking is our mission

Conventional sweets are unfortunately high in calories, low in nutrients, and full of additives that children, in particular, should definitely avoid. Sweets like gummy bears, store-bought bars, and milk chocolate are not only unhealthy but also impair children's concentration and learning abilities. Children are our future, and therefore it is our mission to show little ones that there are delicious alternatives to gummy bears and the like. When it comes to snacking, parents have a particularly difficult task. Parents naturally always want the best for their children – they want them to lead fulfilling and happy lives, have fun, and enjoy excellent health. Now, parents are somewhat caught in a dilemma when it comes to explaining to their little rebels that sweets, chocolate, and the like are unhealthy. The DATTELBÄR team wants to lend parents a hand with this task. At our HEALTHY SNACKING events, we take the side of the children and teach them in a playful way that the delicious PALM FRUITS taste much better than conventional sweets.

Exercise and healthy eating go hand in hand.

Children have incredible energy! To keep their brains receptive, they need to let off steam now and then. Every 10 minutes there was a movement break. We want to inspire kids to enjoy exercise and physical activity, as well as healthy snacking. Jumping, running, dancing, and cool music – a colorful bouquet for body, mind, and soul! During the movement breaks, the children learned all about the healthy super snack – our DATTELBÄR palm fruit – and of course, there was a quiz at the end.

No pain, no gain

It was incredible how enthusiastic all the children were. How big would the date palm grow, how many fruits would it bear, and where do dates even come from? Each group put in a tremendous amount of effort to answer the questions as best they could. During the evaluation, the entire gymnasium was completely silent. The tension mounted, and the children's eyes sparkled, because every group desperately wanted to win.

Everyone's a winner!

A great cheer erupted throughout the gymnasium. As a reward, each class received a large box of our organic sukkaryotes.

Cooking in the gymnasium

Opinions on dates vary widely. The dates commonly found in supermarkets have unfortunately triggered a date trauma in many people, often starting with the Christmas treats they received in their childhood bags. Hard, bland, brown dried fruits that Grandma claimed were healthy. DATTELBÄR has sparked a date revolution, because the extra-soft organic Sukkari dates are anything but hard and boring. Despite initial skepticism, the kids fell in love with these soft, caramel-like palm fruits. And of course, we've come up with something for the big skeptics, too. In small teams, the kids created pralines from Sukkari dates, coconut flakes, and ground almonds. A treat for young and old alike. For those who would like to try making them themselves, simply mix the ingredients in a 1:1:1 ratio and knead until a smooth dough forms. Then shape the dough into balls and store them in the refrigerator (or simply eat them right away!).
