The term Bulletproof Coffee was coined by a health blogger named Dave Asprey. The drink basically consists of black coffee, mushroom extract, and butter.
Here we will present a vegan version of Bulletproof Coffee:
VEGAN BULLETPROOF COFFEE
Recipe for 4 cups
You need:
- 2-4 tablespoons of brown coffee (stronger/weaker depending on preference)
- 100-200 ml Chaga decoction
- 4 tablespoons coconut butter or coconut oil
- 8 Sukkary or Medjool dates
- a pinch of sea salt
- cardamom
- Cinnamon
- nutmeg
Here's how:
Chaga decoction
- Boil the chaga powder/chaga pieces (approx. 10g per 1L of water) for 2 hours over medium heat. It's best to prepare a larger quantity of chaga decoction and then store it in the refrigerator for your smoothies or coffee. (You can boil the chaga approximately 10 times.)
- If that's too much trouble for you, you can also use instant chaga powder (we saw that at FourSigmatic ) or add the tincture to your coffee.
Coffee
- Now use the chaga decoction and 2-4 tablespoons of coffee to make an espresso or Turkish coffee. Let the coffee cool.
- Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix for about 1 minute. The longer you mix, the creamier your Bulletproof Coffee will be.
